Green
Point (also Greenpoint),
a once neglected area
of high-rise apartment
blocks, restored townhouses
and converted warehouses
is now one of Cape Town's
most colourful communities.
The suburb is on the edge
of the city and has a
vibrant nightlife. It
is within walking distance
of the V&A Waterfront.
Sea
Point is like
a city within a city,
its innumerable restaurants,
bars and pubs bustling
24 hours a day. This is
a truly cosmopolitan suburb
that never sleeps. From
the wide seafront promenade,
busy main road, high-rise
apartment blocks and mountainside
villas, Sea Point has
it all.
Fresnaye
lies between Sea Point
and Bantry Bay, it offers
a more elegant atmosphere
than its more brash neighbours.
Sandwiched between the
lower slopes of Lions
Head and the blue Atlantic
Ocean this is indisputably
part of Cape Town's millionaire's
mile.
Somerset
West is a far
cry from the original
tiny settlement it once
was, but the town still
has a historical feel,
which adds to its character
and charm. Oak trees and
thatched cottages, historic
buildings and many national
monuments give the town
a pleasant, comforting
feel.
The
famous beaches of Strand,
Gordon's Bay lie less
than 15 minutes away by
car, making the Helderberg
a paradise for water sport
enthusiasts and sunbathers.
Cape Town is a mere 48
km away and Stellenbosch,
which lies at the heart
of the historical Cape
Winelands, is a mere 20
minutes by car. To the
east lies the tortuous
and spectacular scenic
coastal drive to Pringle
Bay, Betty's Bay. Kleinmond
and Hermanus, while the
N2 over Sir Lowry's Pass
brings one into the wonderful
deciduous fruit growing
region of Grabouw and
Elgin. Somerset West offers
easy access to these uniquely
beautiful areas, whilst
catering for your every
need in its own special
way.
Gordon's
Bay is a picturesque
cove with its steep mountain
backdrop against which
magnificent residences
perch precariously, is
home to the South African
Naval College and its
sheltered harbour plays
host to numerous regattas
and other yachting and
angling events. Gordon's
Bay combines the flavour
of an international resort
with the charm of an old-style
coastal town. This give
this beautiful town a
unique character.
Stellenbosch
is the oldest town in
South Africa after Cape
Town, is undoubtedly the
most scenic and historically
preserved town in Southern
Africa. Oak-lined streets
next to water furrows
compliment the many fine
examples of elegant Cape
Dutch, Victorian and Georgian
architecture. The town,
ideally situated in a
magnificent mountain valley,
boasts a mild Mediterranean
climate and is the ideal
destination from which
to explore the Winelands,
Cape Town, the Peninsula
and the many tourist attractions
that the area has to offer.
Stellenbosch is the center
of the country's wine
industry, and is also
home to the world-renowned
'Maties' University. Many
national and international
industries have their
headquarters here. It
is a tranquil, friendly
town and a prime tourist
and conference destination!
Kommetjie
is a rustic seaside village
nestling between Slangkop
Mountain and the Atlantic
Ocean. The name derives
from "Little Bowl'
the sheltered natural
tidal pool which has provided
holidaymakers with safe
bathing since the turn
of the century. The coastline
around Kommetjie and the
offshore reefs provide
ideal conditions for huge
kelp beds where crayfish,
perlemoen and shellfish
abound. Surfers all over
the world have enjoyed
riding the numerous excellent
surf spots around Kommetjie.
Recreational activities
include swimming, surfing,
crayfishing, snorkeling
(many divers snorkel around
the reefs to catch crayfish),
with the crayfish season
running from November
to April - canoeing and
walking,
Noordhoek
is a vibrant rural and
artistic community village
just 25 minutes south
of Cape Town, the last
remaining truly rural
area and country village
in the Cape Peninsula.
Situated on the Atlantic
coast at the southern
end of Chapman's Peak
Drive Noordhoek offers
a tranquil country lifestyle
combined with a colourful
village atmosphere.

hiking up Chapman's Peak
and through Silvermine
Nature Reserve offers
an accessible wilderness
experience with spectacular
views over the South Peninsula.
